NOVEMBER WEEKEND [Saturday, November 12th]

Intro to Street Art Techniches, Case Studies & Tools

If you want to use a stencil font that is not already on your computer you can look for free stencil fonts online eg

Stencil fonts have the bridge you need to hold the letters together when you cut them out.
WE are using a font called impact label as it looks like a sick on label

This online application allows you to reproduce an images over a chosen number of pages to make it bigger.  You can put effects on the image.
The question mark links help a lot to understand the order of pages, to decide if you want borders etc

THis is a useful link to see examples of street art.

https://www.picmonkey.com is a good, free and easy to use  alternative to photoshop

Getting to Work........

NOVEMBER WEEKEND [Friday, November 11th]

We reconnected by introducing ourselves again and giving a background to where our names came from....

some examples.....
Iona was called after a Scottish Island that her mum  visited when she was pregnant

Nora was christened Honora, traditionally after her mums name as first born girl,

Eleftheria names means Freedom in Greek

We then spent an hour or so looking back on What happened in October weekend using our blog to remind us of all the activities that we experienced. There was a lot! The group was reminded that one of the main purposes of the is to support them in their reflective journal.

LUNCH TIME

Creative Writing Workshop with Kristi Collins

Here's some captions you might like to use for the blog:

We warmed up with an epic rhyming battle

We wrote our first collaborative poems using the exquisite corpse technique.

We explored imagery and figurative language as a way of giving our words resonance and power

…and used our new power to imagine and describe our future.

We joined all our futures together, to create one poem that spoke for all of us.

*

We distilled the essence of the poem into five statements to inspire and inform our visual art.
